While in China, Dee and Russ visited a Chinese materials supplier. In this shot (by Dee), Russ takes a picture of one of the piles of rough material available for stone cutters in this region of Southern China. Nearby sits a pile of soft, white magnesite often called "white turquoise," or "chalk turquoise" which, when dyed blue and stabilized, is often inaccurately sold as genuine turquoise. This particular supplier carries natural materials from China, as well as glass and "block" turquoise. Other Chinese suppliers import stones from Brazil, Africa and India.
